OZAN TURKKAN

Ozan Turkkan works at the intersection of art, science and technology. His artistic practice is focused on experimental digital media, with an emphasis on generative and algorithmic art, as well as fractal geometry. He uses technology as a means to create visual digital installations.

Fractal art by Ozan Turkkan is based on the study of the geometry of certain mathematical formulas. In simple terms, a fractal is a geometric shape that repeats the same pattern over and over again. As you approach an object, its endless iterations begin to appear. While this may seem conceptually challenging, we encounter these patterns every day. Our world demonstrates exceptional mathematical order.

Ozan Turkkan believes that our DNA makes us fractal beings. According to him, fractals can be seen in the zigzags of coastlines, the shapes of leaves, the contours of mountains, the nervous system - everywhere. For the artist, the whole world is a kingdom of fractals, where order and regularity can be traced universally. He also notes that it is precisely because of this harmony that exists despite chaos that fractal art has a special serenity that strengthens our confidence in life.
