The image of a butterfly is very important for the latest series of works by digital artist Ozan Turkkan. In this work, the butterfly is a metaphor for endless rebirth, a symbol of the ability to transform and transform. The images were created using Creative Coding and artificial intelligence tools based on the numerous archives of the Biodiversity Heritage Library.

TRANSFORMATION, 2021
In the theory of evolution, the term "transitional forms" is used to describe the intermediate states of all organisms in the process of their development as a species. The artist sees this transformation as having neither beginning nor end. And invites the viewer to imagine that everything exists in a continuous transitional form and in constant change.

REFLECTION, 2022
An immersive installation on the border of the digital and physical worlds. By converting images from digital works by artist Ozan Turkkan, the viewer is invited to go through dozens of controllable 3D LED pixels. LED strips embody the exploration of numerous boundaries between science, art and new technologies.

ARURA, 2022
The work was created as a result of Ozan Turkkan's research project, in which the artist is interested in transitional forms of organisms, biodiversity, mathematical fractals and geometric forms in nature. Thousands of rendered images of various organisms from the Biodiversity Heritage Library were re-analyzed and processed using Creative Coding and artificial intelligence tools.

BRIGES, 2022
This work continues the artist's research project on the study of algorithms and transitional forms and was created specifically for this exhibition on the basis of the archives of Mostotrest and the Presidential Library named after Boris Yeltsin. Ozan Turkkan, inspired by the iconic bridges of St. Petersburg, transforms the components of the city's memory into perception, giving them shape through the principles of fractal geometry.

RECYCLED, 2022
Modifications of images on the screen generate new images and plasticity of objects. The artist reproduces the process of transition of materials, figures and substances from one form to another, demonstrating the infinity of the processes of change and the ephemerality of reality itself.

BORDER, 2018
To create this work, the artist took databases based on the flows of public buses, subways, trams, bicycle traffic and analysis of pedestrian traffic in public places. "Border" demonstrates the pulse of urban mobility and creates a portrait of the metropolis through artistic practice, determined by its changing dynamics.
